Congratulations to Kyra Riley of Noe Middle School, and Joseph Glaser, St. Aloyisius (center), who won the Club, Zone AND District Annual Oratorical contests!They each won $1500 on May 17. They are shown with the Zone Contest second and third runners up, and below with contest officials at the District event.

John Ryan, Jr., accepted the Member Award for his father, Dr. John Ryan, Sr., from Al Huber and Ray Pfeiffer. A designated scholarship in Dr. Ryan's honor will be given annually. Remembering faithful Optimists who have passed on is an important Club duty.

Our Annual Essay Contest was held March 4. December 2007
In December, the Optimists helped over 625 kids in four Boys and Girls clubs enjoy a Merry Christmas. We raised over $10,000 and received almost $5000 in toys from Toys for Tots.

New members were inducted on June 19 and our Annual Respect for Law program was held. Sonny Cease, who founded Kentucy's Amber Alert program, was honored. Nicole Davies and Bob Hecht became members.
